Planned Time Off Policy (Effective 8/5/2021)
Planned Time off requests need to be made at least 30 days in advance, if you’re requesting more than 4 days in a row we need 60 days advance notice. After that, it is up to you to get your shift covered by another staff member. You can request another staff member to take or trade your shift on Homebase. If you can’t get somebody to take your shift, you need to show up to work as scheduled.
Overtime is not allowed when trading or taking over shifts unless approved by a manager. "Overtime" means any schedule week (schedule weeks are Friday thru Thursday) where one works more than 40 hours in a week or more than 12 hours in a day.
We will do our best to accommodate all requests. However, in the case of multiple team members requesting the same period(s) of time off, requests will be considered on a first come, first served basis. Additionally, time off may not be granted if the absence of the team member would cause an undue hardship on operational needs or other team members for that period of time. Do not pay for travel or tickets etc before your time off request has been approved.
Time off requests not subject to legally protected leave are limited to 14 work days every six (6) months. Frequent time off requests or frequent requests to have a shift covered may result in a reduction in regular hours, scheduling to less desirable shifts, as well as a drop to temporary team member status.
